GSMA WAS#24

BroadForward will attend the Wholesale Agreements and Solutions Group (WAS) meeting in Dublin. WAS is key for establishing operator-to-operator and operator-to-hub interoperability standards, which directly impact global roaming and interconnect infrastructure. Let us know if you are there to meet up for face-to-face meeting with BroadForward experts during the event.

About WAS#24

GSMA WAS #24 is the 24th conference of the Wholesale Agreements and Solutions Group (WAS), a global working group within the GSMA. Primary Purpose: To manage operator-to-operator and operator-to-hub interoperability. It is the definitive industry forum for negotiating global roaming agreements, establishing wholesale charging principles, and expanding carrier footprints. Core Topics: Discussions focus heavily on the technical and commercial aspects of 5G network slicing, VoLTE, the future of roaming, and billing frameworks.

During this edition, focus will be on:

  • Next-Gen Roaming: Technical and commercial adaptations required for 5G standalone (SA) deployments, network slicing, and VoLTE.
  • Wholesale Charging: Developing standardized agreement templates and wholesale charging principles for international data.
  • Network Transitions: Addressing the global sunsetting of 2G and 3G networks to transition traffic seamlessly to 4G and 5G.
  • Industry Collaboration: Providing a secure environment for carriers to negotiate contracts and expand their global roaming footprints
